Excellent pedicure by a lovely, friendly therapist who took the time to do a very thorough job.
Unfortunately the hot stone massage therapist seemed to be going through the motions. I expect massage to either address muscle tension (in which case it can be uncomfortable) or to be relaxing and this was neither. It was slapdash, stones that had cooled down slipped off and were left resting on my ear and there was a strange combination of massage techniques that weren't explained. I don't expect a therapist to kneel on my back in a hot stone massage for example. I also asked for my neck to be worked on specifically but it wasn't. I've had good massages here before, not luxurious but very effective, but this was a real disappointment.
I've been to this Spa twice. The first time I had a shellac manicure and was really pleased with the results. Couldn't fault it.
The second time wasn't the best. It took far longer than expected and I had to quibble over the price after I wasn't informed that it would cost extra to have the old shellac taken off. It took nearly 20 minutes to take off. And because of this I said I'd have the express manicure instead of the classic (which is normally an hour).
When half-way through I realised I wasn't getting my cuticles removed or tidied I asked why and she replied that you don't get that with the classic. To which I replied that, that was the whole reason for getting them down professionally - frankly I could shellac/paint my nails myself but can never do the cuticles.
I wasn't happy with the way she'd filed them either - different lengths and different shapes.
That's when the original technician took over and gave me a manicure - which was smudged by the time I'd left the salon and completely chipped off four days later on one nail. Complete waste of money.
It's such a shame because I'd had a lovely experience the first time. Won't be attending again unfortunately.
