Really disappointing salon, small spaces and poor cleanliness. I had to wait 15 mins before going in without anyone giving me updates. The girl who did the job was nice. The jobs was done properly and the price was really cheap.
the salon was not great, the room was small and poky, the pedicure itself was not very comfortable, there was a bucket for my feet to go in and no proper space. It didn't feel set up for it at all. The staff we lovely however the actual job done was not good. The booking experience was terrible. I ended up having two bookings that Wahanda created and charged me for, neither of which the location could do. I spent over an hour trying get a pedicure booked - waste of time.
Staff is nice, but everything is terribly unhygienic. I came in to get a Hollywood and my armpits done. And they only heated up the strip wax - which is supposed to be only used on the legs because it basically strips you from the first layer of skin, so it is not suitable for the delicate skin of the armpits and genital parts. They told me I should have called and tell them I wanted hot wax, so I asked how long it would take for them to heat it up. After waiting an extra 15 minutes it then finally was my turn. The lady who did my wax was nice, but rough, I felt a bit like a piece of meat as she was leaning on my breast to get to my armpits. The room I was in was tiny, you could hardly turn around and it was very dusty and a bit dirty. Then she just started without asking me if the temperature was okay and without putting on gloves! NO GLOVES! I pray to God, that she washed her hands before touching my vagina .... I mean she handles the cash in the entry and then puts those same fingers all over me. I was shocked, but only noticed later. There were still a lot of hairs left, because it was poorly done, but I just couldn't wait to leave. Then when I wanted to pay with card she tells me that both of the card machines are broken ... of course. So I had to walk 15 minutes for the next cash machine. And they also asked for way too much, for the quality and service they provide. Super disappointed and I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. I even bruised, because of how brutal she was! And I have got those places waxed for 5 years now, and something like this never happened to me. DON'T GO THERE! Trust me, you will regret it.
This was my first appointment at Alternatives. The salon was small and basic but that doesn't bother me. The staff were incredibly lovely. The manicure itself was disappointing however as it was done quite messy with the shellac on my skin as well as nails. It also started all peeling off after only a week so wasn't worth the extra price compared to a normal manicure. It wasn't a horrible experience but I will have a look for another salon for next time.
Good value for money. I was charged £33 rather than the advertised £27 because I received a different type of bikini wax. I didn't mind too much as this is still fairly cheap but I would have appreciated it being mentioned before I came to pay. The venue is tiny and very cramped, the paper thin walls means you can hear all the conversations going on in the reception are which is a bit off putting and the door of the treatment room didn't completely close - which when you're having a bikini wax isn't ideal! All in all though, the staff are really friendly and it is pretty cheap so I'll be back!
