My friends would tell you I not the easiest girl to please but I cant fault these guys they really know what they’re doing I’ve been getting Brazilians and not the privet kind since they came on the market as my hair is uncontrollable without them these guys really but the work in. Baykar I hope iv spelt that right honey done my keratin treatment then I was moved on to Dominic who trimmed my hair for me to freshen it up for the event I was attending that night I was so impressed with the results I saw the colourist achieve across from me I decided to have a chat with him and have already book my return visit to have my hair colourerd with him.
I visited Carlos London a few weeks back to have my highlights done and i took advantage of the discounted cut and blowdry offered with it, im a student so enery penny counts lol. the higlights were spot on and my stylist Dominic gave me a cut and blowdry to boot perfect results will definitly return TOP VENUE! with TOP STYLISTS!
I visited this salon for the first time for a brazilian blow dry treatment and have now got dandruff for the first time in my life so am a bit disappointed given that the results were okay so feel it's important to provide some feedback to the salon.
I have extra long hair so before I made my purchase I called the salon to inquire about availability and to let them know about the length of my hair. I didn't want to the treatment to be rushed so I felt it would be helpful for me to tell them this in advance. To be fair I felt the treatment was not rushed although I think shortcuts were taken. There were a number of other treatments being done at the same time for other brazilian blow dries and appointments for their regular customers, so I had the treatment applied by one person and then partly blow dried and straightened by someone else and then left midway to be returned to the first person and then finally returned to the other. So there was a bit of passing around and I was a bit worried about the results. I've had this treatment about six times previously lasting about 4 months each time. Sometimes the results are not so good when salons take shortcuts although I've never got dandruff from the treatment.
The process:
1. My hair was not blow dried before applying the product to my hair. it was applied to wet hair. When the product has been applied to wet hair for previous treatments the results have been poor.
2. The product was not applied to my hair in sections but instead applied directly to to my scalp, then a few sections underneath my hair before sparingly being run through my hair with the stylists hands. In a conversation later I was informed that the interest in this offer has been very good but they are quickly running out of the product. I realised this is why the product may not have applied to each section of the hair to save on product and also the time it takes to do the whole treatment. Some additional product was applied to the front of my hair when it was being straightened.
3. I was informed I could wash out this product in 48hrs instead of the normal recommendation of 4 days. I left it on for 4 days before washing.
The results:
My hair is lighter and dries quicker and is less frizzy than it was although it feels a bit knotty so I am unable to freely run my fingers through it when I wash it or blow dry it. Overall I was pleased with the results. I am now 10 days into the treatment and in the last couple of days I have seen small flakes of dandruff in my hair. The last couple of days I have been trying to work out what it is and now I have realised it is dandruff. Shocked by why I have got it, I have searched online to see if other people have experienced this from a brazilian blow dry and it seems that if the product is applied all over the scalp this can occur.. I have always had the product applied in sections with a brush so although it touches the scalp it is not the same as it being applied just directly to the scalp. I am now trying to work out what to do about the dandruff without applying a anti-dandruff shampoo as this will probably strip out the brazilian blow dry treatment.
The salon is a family business run by Carlos and Dominique who are very professional, take pride in what they do and offer a good service and seem like nice people. Some salon's employ juniors to do these treatments and so I would give them credit that they haven't done this. I would've gone back to the salon but after the getting dandruff I wouldn't want to risk it unless the procedure is changed. I would recommend they blow dry the hair straight before applying the product and the product is applied section by section to the whole of the hair and not directly to the scalp.
Everything about this salon is just ok. I wouldn't particularly recommend it to anyone. The lady who did my nails wasn't rude, but wasn't welcoming either. The nails are ok, filed and painted without much attention to detail. If I'd have paid full price I would have been quite dissatisfied with the quality.
What a find! This place is small, friendly, and uses excellent products (Biolage). Most importantly, they really know how to cut hair. I was after something bouncy but neat, and that is exactly what Bayker (my hairdresser) did. A definite keeper.
