AVOID AT ALL COSTS - BE WARNED!!! BAD WORKMANSHIP, EVEN WORSE AFTERCARE, BAD SERVICE!
Last Saturday I booked a 1.30pm appointment with Savannah to have eyelash extensions and eyebrow waxing. Savannah called about 1 hour before my appointment to move it back to 2pm so I agreed. When I arrived Savannah told me that her colleague Romesh (probably have misspelt name, its an Indian lady) would see me as she had to go home. I was rather annoyed, but as I was going out that night I had little choice but to accept.
I gave the lady explicit instructions as to how I wanted my eyebrows to look and she said she could do it. Boy was she wrong, she messed my eyebrows up so badly that the only way to rectify them was to make them thinner and thinner so that they would look slightly even. I was really ticked off at this point I don't know what possessed me to let her continue. So I let her put my lashes on but her application process was so poor, at one point my eye was stinging so badly it was as though she had put glue into my eye! When she had finished I noticed that some of the lashes were halfway down my own lashes (the are meant to be applied at base of eyelid) so I queried if they would stay on. She guaranteed me they would last up to 2 weeks.
The next day some of the lashes had already started falling out!
I called the Amia store on the Monday and spoke to Savannah and expressed my concerns. She apologised and offered me an appointment to fix my lashes on Saturday at 11am as that was the only day I could do due to work and so on. On my way there as I was running a little late I gave them a courtesy call to let them know I would get there as soon as possible.
The phone was answered by a man who could barely speak English, who sounded like he had just been sleeping or may have possibly been drunk! I could hardly understand what he was saying to me but what I did get from the failed attempt at a conversation was that Savannah was not in that day and that the manager was on holiday. This man told me to come in on Sunday instead and someone else would see me. This infuriated me somewhat as a) I was already on my way to the store, b)why wasn't I called before hand to cancel if Savannah wasn't in (they always take your number when they make appointments) and c) I wondered would they have turned me away when I got to the store?
I didn't bother to go to the store today (Sunday) because I realised it would be a complete waste of time. What I did instead is removed the last of my lashes (they were all falling out since last sunday) and decided to write this review instead to warn potential customers against this store.
Its up to you if you choose to access Amia's services but do not be surprised if it all goes wrong and you struggle to get it fixed.
NOT WORTH THE TIME, NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Sadaf is a real pro - she took really good care of my hands, and the Shellac looks flawless! It's only been 4 days since I got my nails done, but there's no sign of deterioration, despite doing normal chores like (quite a lot of) dishes or house cleaning, so I'm very satisfied with the result.
I've also had a Hollywood & underarm wax - it was quick, painless (as much as waxing can be painless) and very thorough; no burns, no hairs "forgotten" anywhere, no stress. Definitely recommend her :)
Very good service carried out by Gagi. I was taken on time for my appointment and I was very impressed with the way the gel nails turned out. I also asked for extra treatments to be carried out and she accommodated me, nothing was a problem.
This salon is great. It's not the experience you would get in a swanky spa but their prices reflect that. Staff are friendly and good at their job. One tip for them would be to lock the door of the room when they are waxing clients - I was a bit concerned that someone could burst in!
