The staff at Amiika Spa were the right level of polite and chatty without being overbearing and my manicure & pedicure were both great. The spa itself is relaxing and well appointed. I'll definitely be back for more treatments.
The staff were kind enough to let me rearrange twice. Once due to work commitments, the second as I had hurt myself. However, when I arrived for my massage (admittedly I was 5 minutes late) the whole thing seemed robotic and rushed. No personal touch to it, in and out without a smile from anyone. Almost regretted booking, but learned from the experience.
Treatments have always been good including waxing. I usually pay £11 for a strip of hair on my shoulder and for a strip of light hair on my back. I think £11 is a fair price considering I am in and out in under 10 minutes. Sorry women if this normal! However on two occasions I have tried to rebook the same waxing and I have been quoted with £31 as it is technically my shoulder and back! I tried explaining to the younger Thai receptionist and she said it has always been this price. Even with my example of paying £11 on previous occasions she told me that it must have been 2 years ago. It wasn't 2 years ago, it was 4-5 months ago. I can also understand paying £31 if my back was full of hair, which it is not, will not be back.
I have been to this spa several times now. I cannot stress enough how professional the staff is. I have had a great massage. I have gone for the half hour option for the first time and it is well worth the money.
