Angel Beauty Parlour were not aware of my booking through Treatwell and we're very busy, so I had to wait to be seen. The treatment room was filthy. There was dirty tissue paper on the floor from a previous customer and stains on the walls/ceiling. You could hear all the noise from the nail bar in the main room. The technician did not make me feel welcome or relaxed at all. I was having a Brazilian wax, which is very intimate, but she was so brisk and rushed it did not feel she tried too maintain my dignity. The wax was quite good - quick and minimal pain, but I just wanted it over with because the whole experience was not relaxing at all. She didn't offer to get the shorter hairs with tweezers and didn't wax the bits further back. She didn't leave the room to give me any privacy to sort myself out and get dressed afterwards. I would never return.
First things first, I HAVE been left very smooth, with only a few hairs left for me to pluck out. However, despite the value for money, and how smooth I've been left, a pretty large layer of skin has also been waxed off - something that has rarely happened before from waxes at other places. This is the largest amount of skin that has come off, by far, from a wax; I've been left with bright red patches on my groin that are very sore and uncomfortable and make me look sunburnt.
No one at the beauty parlour seemed to be aware that I was coming and were not very welcoming. The waxing room was through a store cupboard and up some stairs, which seemed pretty out of the way of the shop and like it didn't really belong there. The table was positioned directly under the main light, so I was looking straight into a blinding lightbulb the whole wax, and the gloves the beauty therapist used stuck to the wax on my skin, making it more uncomfortable.
And lastly, due to where the waxing room was and the likelihood of me getting lost, I was not given the privacy to get changed after my wax - my beauty therapist waited in the room with me whilst I got dressed. I appreciate she wanted to bring me downstairs safely, but feel it was inappropriate to stay in the room whilst I sorted myself out.
Overall, yes, I have been left smooth and pretty much hairless, but the skin that has been ripped off, the general atmosphere and the lack of privacy all together means I won't be going back again.
