I booked into this salon because it is in a convenient location and uses Lycon wax which is usually much less painful. Something about the application the beautician here used and the way she ripped it off made it as painful for me as a normal hot wax (I was clearly in pain and she didn't do anything to minimise this, usually the beautician presses on the area to relieve the pain immediately after removing the strip). I also noticed she used the same stick to apply the wax all the way through (and left it in the hot wax after my treatment so it looks like she planned to use it again for the next customer). I use another salon in Angel who actively promote that they do not "double dip" - so they use a number of sticks to apply the wax even on the same customer. I will be going back there next time instead.
