This is not your basic, run of the mill massage - and that’s a good thing. I’m a fan of all types of massage but when you’re looking for something that’s going to both help you relax and recoup as well as alleviate tense muscles, hot stones can be the perfect answer. And Nicky’s version is an excellent one! As a skilled masseuse, Nicky’s warmth and genuine passion shows through right from the start. Her technique is very good (you can tell she knows her anatomy for massage) and she finds the perfect balance between relaxation and the edge bordering into a sports massage (while I want to be relaxed I also want to feel like my muscles have actually benefitted from a bit of a work out - you get both with this).
Some clients may not like the fact that Nicky does not utilise the face hole in the bed, and I thought I’d probably be one of these. However, when you get used to it and with the additional pillows to elevate your torso it’s not too bad (and some may even find it preferable) and certainly not a deal breaker.
The building the salon is in is an old house so the layout is not ideal in the sense that the treatment room is off the staircase but don’t let this put you off (although it may not be suitable for clients who have difficulties with stairs or reduced mobility).
Nicky’s skill and warmth compensates for the other little imperfections, which I’m sure with constructive client feedback she will address (eg no hot towel on feet at start, no glass of water - but these are very minor, easily fixable things).
Overall, as an admittedly very picky person, I’ve given this experience 5 stars. I could go on with more detail but instead I’d definitely encourage you to book and try for yourself. Thank you Nicky!
PS there’s plenty of free parking outside of the salon and the massage was done to a good playlist 👍
