The spa is really lovely. I didn't know it existed before finding it on Treatwell and I'm so glad I found it. As soon as you walk in you feel relaxed because of the beautiful smell and calm ambience. The guy on reception was really friendly and professional and made me feel comfortable straight away. As for my treatment, well the lady who treated me (Justine) was very nice but I think there should have been more of a consultation first - just to let me know what to expect. I've never really had a proper wax before and she didn't ask me what my experience was or anything. Instead, I was told to just take my clothes off and lie down. I know I was there for a Hollywood wax but I was really nervous and also embarrassed because I'm fat :). I think more could have been done to put me at ease and make sure I didn't feel self conscious. The wax itself was obviously painful but Justine was as gentle as she could be and advised me to get my phone and go on facebook to distract myself - that was a great idea! I remember reading a review from somebody else who said she didn't think the staff had much experience with plus sized women and I got the same feeling. I think it's really important that the therapist doesn't look shocked at the size of clients and really tries to make them feel at ease. The final results are great - it's so nice and smooth down there but unfortunately, when I got home, I did find that some hair was still there - it wasn't terrible and was in an area that I guess is difficult to remove but it shouldn't have been there.
All in all I would definitely recommend this place and I'll certainly be going back. Great venue, lovely staff, great ambience and very very reasonable prices. There are just a few areas for improvement but I'm sure they'll get there.
