I was sadly very disappointed with my appointment at Chic Beauty - Toni & Guy. The main thing was that I wasn't made to feel at all comfortable. The woman didn't welcome me, ask me what I was wanting done, if I had any questions etc. She was obviously rushed and tired and so I began to feel like an inconvenience.
When I was getting ready for my wax (legs and bikini), I realised she hadn't left me a towel to cover myself and when the door is opened to the room, everyone outside getting their hair/nails done can see in! This made me feel incredibly nervous at the thought of people seeing me lying on the bed! I tried to cover myself up as best I could but just had to go with it.
The lady didn't talk to me at all so I began a conversation to try and create a better atmosphere, and because I was a little apprehensive getting my legs waxed as it hurts! We chatted for a bit with me asking questions but that soon stopped and it became incredibly uncomfortable again. Her tone when she did speak just made me feel like I was a complete inconvenience and she was obviously rushing as she said she'd had a really long day..
During payment she left it to someone else to do, left and didn't say thank you. This in itself is just rude.
After a long day at work, and then this experience, I left feeling pretty upset. Not a pleasant experience at all and I just think when someone is getting an intimate treating like a bikini wax, the salon should be doing everything in their power to make customers feel comfortable and welcome. I did not feel this at all so will not be recommending or going back.
I booked a last minute appointment in the afternoon and was surprised to get a small discount for doing so. The salon was right near work and the only one in the area that does just a file and polish, perfect for a quick lunchtime fix me up!
Would recommend.
