The salon is easy to find, close to Farringdon and Barbican stations. Unassuming exterior and comfortable inside; not too flashy or too decadent, with good lighting and a sofa to wait on if (as I did) you arrive a little ahead of time. I didn't catch her name but the woman on Reception was extremely friendly and warm, and immediately took my coat and scarf. Brent, the owner, was assigned to me for my wash, cut and blow dry appointment, and despite my being flustered was quick to put me at ease, sitting with me for a quick chat about what I wanted (I'd come in with a few ideas but no strict plan and no photos), and what he thought might work with my face shape and my ideas for my hair. My hair was 80% rough-dried first before the cut began. I had asked after the chat for a long bob and Brent was quick to point out a length that worked for my face, with slightly longer front ends and some long layers for more shape and movement. A complimentary head massage was a lovely extra. Brent was chatty but not invasively so throughout, upbeat and professional (it helps that he's incredibly sparkly and charming) and made it clear that at any time I should let him know if something felt like it needed altering, or wasn't working for me. The cut came out lovely, with a side fringe added in at the end to frame the look, and Brent blow-dried my hair to finish, using straighteners to kink my (straight) hair to give it a more rough-and-tumble look, which really brought out the layering. A day later and it looks great. Fingers crossed I can keep the look going once I've washed and dried it myself!
Very handy near my work to pop in. Friendly staff, was offered a glass of wine as it was a Friday evening and Lucy (i think) who did my hair was lovely. Not sure curls lasted as long as they sometimes do but still happy.
I was recommended Bar hairdressers by my sister and I'm glad I went. Josie was warm and friendly and, for the first time, I actually walked out the salon being 100% happy with my hair! The salon has a good vibe - somehow they've got the balance right between high-energy and relaxed / chilled vibe.
All in all a happy customer.
So happy with my haircut by Josie at Bar! I've gone for a more drastic cut than usual, but have had loads of compliments and people asking where I went.
Pleased with my hair colour. Covered all my grays. Efficient and friendly staff. Price was average for long hair colour £55, I think.
Salone has a nice shabby chic interior. Slightly noisy with the sounds of hair dryers, people chatting, background music and singing staff while working.
