My hairdresser sadly closed and I was looking tor a replacement, local hairdresser. This was my first visit to Barnaby's but my worst hairdressing experience ever. No friendly greeting, I was waved from a distance to the hairwash and the roughest hairwash ever. Rough, scratched by nails and head shaken from side to side etc. I was also surprised that the stylist didn't speak to me and chat about my cut before my hair was washed. I explained I liked my hair fairly short and to lose some weight out of my hair but there was very little chat and in hindsight I should have asked questions to ensure she understood. She went straight into cutting a couple of inches off, a lot of use of the thinning scissors and it was all over within 10 minutes. And a poor cut - no layering using scissors - you can visibly see 3 distinct steps. No taking time to ensure both sides were even and the stylist didn't even realise I have a double crown and I'm left with a sticking up area on the top of my head. I was in and out of the salon within 15 minutes. That makes it the most expensive hair cut I've ever had. So much for a 45 minute slot. In hindsight a visit to the barber next door for a 3rd of the price would have resulted in a better cut. I should have spoken up at the end but I just wanted to get out as soon as I could. I was offered a drink but there was no conversation and no warm welcome to make me want to return. I picked Barnaby's because it is local and had good reviews but looking at them again they seem to be for the male stylists only. I've had to find (and pay for) another hairdressers to repair the poor cut too. I definitely won't be back.
It's so reassuring to to know that when you visit Barnaby's you will leave happy and satisfied. They just know how to do hair, that's the bottom line. I would recommend this salon without hesitation.
