Usually I'm pretty generous with reviews, but honestly: I would not recommend this place to anyone. I booked a three-hour 'relaxing' massage because I needed to ease a lot of knots, but 'relaxing' was the farthest thing from my experience. It isn't so much the venue as some have said - the venue is, indeed, small, cramped and definitely not fancy - but I've given 5*s to similar venues in the past. The reason for the poor feedback is a combination of the treatment itself and the ambience, in my case.
For instance, I understand that people sometimes say that a massage needs to hurt a bit in order to be effective, but typically no one mentions being in excruciating pain following a treatment, for hours on end. Typically I opt fora deep-tissue massage because in general I prefer more pressure, but I'm writing this review at 2.30am the following morning, because I woke up a few moments ago in agony, after, quite literally, throwing up following the treatment yesterday evening because it made me feel so ill. In addition, the therapist used barely any oil (which meant that the skin-on-skin friction increased a lot) - most of the time using none at all and when she did bother, a tiny amount of Johnson's Baby Oil - which didn't do much to ease the pain.
And, as for the atmosphere of the place...it was extremely noisy, with members of staff calling to each other throughout, first of all. That, I could just about get by, but it was more the fact that the therapist kept on stopping the massage to check her phone whenever it beeped (which she left on - not off or on silent - throughout the treatment), and the fact that for at least 50% of the treatment the door was WIDE OPEN and other members of staff went in-and-out of the room, talking with the therapist. As I was lying down naked on a table, I wasn't exactly over-the-moon with this way of doing things.
Essentially, I have one word to summarise my experience at BeHealth: 'OWWWWWWW'! Never, ever again.
