I always come here for waxing and find its the best! Everyone is very friendly and attentive to your needs. Its good value for money and a very quick process. I have been coming here for a year now and will continue to do so!
Firstly, I must stress that I was booked into this salon, but was later told my reservation had been changed to Amia Hair and Beauty. This was somewhere that I had been before and deliberately did not rebook. When I arrived at Amia for the first time I was shocked at the rough appearance of it. The bathroom is downstairs in a dingy corridor next to a tattoo parlour, and has a huge drain hole in the middle of the floor. Then I got into the waxing room and saw old pieces of wax on the floor with hairs on. There was also no music or anything relaxing, which does not sound like much, but is just a little something that makes a place.
My wax was the most agonising experience of my life. Not only was the wax too hot, but the beautician wouldn't turn it down. Instead her approach was to blow on it before putting it on my skin, no matter how many times I complained about the heat, she did not turn it down. On top of this, she did not leave any area with which to pull the wax off once it had cooled, therefore systematically pulled out my hairs, slowly whenever she removed the wax.
She also started using strip wax part way through when I had paid for hot wax - it felt as though she was not properly trained and was reverting to what she knew at the first opportunity.
I left the salon feeling extremely sore, and am still dry and sore a week later. I would not recommend this place to anyone, regardless of the price.
