I was very disappointed by this last visit at the salon. The beautician was on the phone the whole time, and just kept doing my waxing without even asking me how I'd like it done or if the wax was not too hot... Even for a 'cheap' salon you'd expect at least to have the attention of the beautician during your treatment.
The good bits:
- The wax was cheap (especially with the summer discounts)
- centrally located so I could pop there in my lunch break
- got rid of most of the hair.
The bad bits:
- OUCH! It was probably one of the most painful waxing experiences I've had. I have a fairly high pain tolerance, but there were moments where I just wanted to give up and leave.
- Unhygienic - she used the same wooden spreader thing the whole time, continuously dipping the same one into the wax rather than using a new spreader each time which I've been assured is a big waxing no-no
- While she tried and got rid of most of the hair, there was still more than usual left. However, by that point I was in so much pain I just wanted out so said it was fine there was some left, paid and left.
Bottom line: It's cheap but I wont be going back. I'd prefer to pay a touch more and have a less painful, more hygienic and more effective treatment!
