Very run down looking salon compared to surrounding salons but very cheap and good value.
Eyebrow Threading
The wax was okay but the ambience and cleanliness was substandard and the service was very unprofessional. I booked through the app where I was quoted £21. After the wax they tried to charge me £31 because they used hot wax which is more expensive. I didn’t ask for hot wax nor was I told before the wax that it would incur and additional charge. When I questioned the additional charge they were really rude and asked me to leave.
Hollywood Waxing
I was pleased to get an appointment for a wax at short notice and not have to wait. I was taken straight downstairs to a small dingy room. The lady doing the treatment didn’t introduce herself and didn’t speak to me. I had to leave my belongings and clothes on the floor. There was no music or anything and the door didn’t shut properly. I go for waxes quite regularly, and whilst my hair was a little shorter than optimum I’ve had waxes elsewhere at this length with no problem. I had a strip wax and it was the most painful one I’ve ever had. The wax itself was far too hot! The beautician didn’t chat or ask any questions, and just grunted when she wanted me to move. She kept saying I have ‘very thick’ hair- which is the opposite to what I’ve been told many times before! If this had been my first time waxing I would probably be traumatised and I definitely won’t be going back.
