Lucky to nab a 30 minute massage on the day to alleviate neck pain, I dashed over to the salon and arrived with mere minutes to spare, chiding myself that I'd probably have a form to fill in which may delay the massage start.
Arrived at the salon and gave my name to the receptionist who asked me to take a seat alongside another lady. No forms which was new but meant I was right on time.
The receptionist approached a woman threading eyebrows of another customer and announced me, which seemed a surprise and she replied by asking the receptionist to make up the room.
The receptionist returned a few minutes later to say she had, by which stage the beautician bad finished with the first customer.
Being 6:35 I presumed that meant I was up, but instead she asked the other lady to come take a seat. The receptionist ushered me downstairs to a massage room and said to take my top off.
Not long after the beautician came down and told me to lie face down. Slightly awkward as the table didn't have a head hole and just a folded towel. She then proceeded to massage without saying a word- I'm used to the 'any injuries/what pressure?' chat but fine. It wasn't the best massage to be honest and when she stopped and said she was done I said 'oh that seemed so quick!' As she left the room.
I got changed and came upstairs, ensured the bill was settled then asked the receptionist the time. She hesitated and said 'Er, 6:56...' And I said "Well that wasn't really a half hour massage then - 20mins at best..." she said 'Yeah, sorry.' We stood awkwardly for minute then I shrugged and walked out. Mediocre massage is one thing, but paying for 30mins and getting less than 20 is pretty poor form.
Upon entering the room to get a full Hollywood wax, the lady beautician stayed in the room while I got changed, leaving me without any privacy to get myself comfortable. The door couldn't close properly, so was just pushed up against the door jam. She then proceeded with gloves about 3 sizes too big and they kept getting stuck to the wax. On top of this another member of staff walked in without knocking while my legs were completely open, the beautician took a personal phone call too, as though I didn't have all my bits showing. At the end of this procedure she again stayed in the room while I got dressed. When I got back to the office I went to the ladies and noticed areas that she just completely missed. This was probably the worst "treatment" I've received at a beauty salon. Will now go home and finish the job off myself.
