The odd, almost uncomfortable absence of a welcome from the beautician (there was no reception), the lack of ambience entirely (apart from another independent beautician - I assume - walking around on her phone) and the general sulky (?) silence from the beautician throughout, ruined this experience for me. This was a rare treat to myself for my birthday and it felt entirely unspecial!
The beautician offered me options for my manicure - saying that Treatwell don't explain the options fully on the site - and then she explained why my choices were the wrong ones.
Salon was dingy and in one tiny, outdated room. No towel or papers in the bathroom, she seemed confused when I asked how I could dry my hands.
The manicure itself was ok, but not £30 worthy. I wish I'd saved me money and done my own nails - I will not go back. Not the indulgence I was seeking for my birthday lunchtime-treat.
Maria was absolutely lovely, one of the most personable beauticians I've ever met! She's obviously very experienced and proud of her work and it was a great experience, I'll definitely be back.
