When I arrived the welcome was warm however nothing was set up. The woman on desk pulled out a table from wall while I found a colour (a fair selection of colours to choose from) and gave me the chair from reception desk to sit on. The girl who was doing my nails then came out but did not seem happy to be there at all. I got a curt hello and that was almost all of the conversation. She huffed a lot opening and closing drawers and cupboards searching for things and then finally got started. My nails are kept quite short for my job however one had broken the day before and the the girls complained quite a lot about it, both verbally and by huffing. She was rather rough with my nails and seemed to not be in control of the electric file she was using it slid off of my nails and clipped my hands more than a few times. When she then trimmed my cuticles she cut to bleeding point two of my fingers. It was a rather painful experience. She said my hands were too dry and that’s why it hurt...
I found her very unprofessional it her practise, but also while I was there a client came in looking for a massage later in the day, the lady in the desk said Valarie (the girl doing my nails) was free at the specified time that afternoon but Valarie then called over me to say she could not do it could the client come back tomorrow. The client explained she could not come back tomorrow could she have it today and Valarie responded saying she’d rather do the massage tomorrow. To which the client, quite rightly, replied it was surely the clients preference that mattered but Valarie insisted she was too busy (even though appointment book had her clear). After the client had gone, another collègue came from back and then both complained openly in front of me about both the client and the lady on reception.
The finished product left a lot to be desired. The finish was messy and my fingers throbbed from where she’d cut me. The manicure was supposed to take 45 mins but I was there for almost twice that time, while Valarie stopped to talk to the other woman who worked there, or the client she refused to massage, it even answer phone. My fingers were still red and tender last night and now have scabbed over which is not the look I was holding for when paying to getting nails done. I had to wash away as was catching as train and the appointment had run so far over or I would have complained at the time. However as I was aware it was only Valarie and the woman she’d been complaining to in the salon at that time I’m not sure how effective it would have been
I booked a back, neck and shoulder massage for a hour for £35 at 11am. On the day I had a call from the beauty centre and they change my appointment. I went there and actually I had 25min massage for £29. No one explain me anything. I thought that if you book for a hour you should have a hour massage. Very disappointed.
