I had a dermaplaning facial and was disappointed by the whole experience at the salon. The treatment room was cut off from the main room and street entrance by a stud wall that didn’t reach the ceiling so it felt a bit make-shift. Capital radio was playing in the main entrance room which was clearly heard in the treatment room and was not conducive to creating a relaxing ambience. The therapist didn’t close the door so other clients were walking past and could see into the room as my treatment was carried out which I have never experienced in a salon before and found bizarre. I could hear conversations at the nail bar and customers coming in and out and at one point another therapist wandered in for a chat. I was shocked at this lack of professionalism and customer care.
I’d never had dermaplaning before or visited this salon, which I’d told the therapist. I expected she would talk me through the treatment but she didn’t so that also made it more difficult to relax because I didn’t know what to expect / stages of the treatment. Although dermaplaning itself is not a relaxing treatment I feel there are lots of ways this treatment and salon experience could be improved to make the experience a more relaxing and satisfying one.
