Lovely, friendly staff member who made me feel relaxed. The result of the wax is one of the best I've had.
After looking forward to treating myself to gel nails after removing the gel varnish I had had for my wedding which had lasted 5 weeks I was disappointed with the finish of this treatment. My appointment was with an apprentice which I was not made aware of when booking. Although she meant well I don't think there had been much training. The application was very sloppy and totally covered my cuticles and skin on the sides of my nails. Even though there was 3 coats it was also very uneven. Needless to say it was peeling off the next day. The treatment took 1.5 hours rather than the 45 minutes it was supposed too. When asked to file down the nails slightly to start with I was shocked to have them cut straight across the middle with nail clippers which was quite painful and uncomfortable. It didn't give a great impression when the beautician boasts about never cutting or doing anything to her own nails ever. However as I said above the assistant meant well and I got the impression she was actually quite nervous about applying the varnish and insisted I help my hands up and in position I couldn't really watch what she was doing (apparently it was to do with the helping the varnish set). Hopefully she will receive some more training before let lose on someone else's nails!
