I have been many a times well worth it and I will be going again
Great as always!
I was disappointed in the service and treatments I recieved at Beautyworks after reading mostly positive reviews on here and receiving a personal recommendation - admittedly, for a different treatment to the ones I had, which were a bikini wax and an eyelash tint. The receptionist was nice and chatty, and kept me informed when things were running a bit late, which I appreciated. But the salon is tired looking and a bit shabby and could do with a renovation. There was also no sink in the treatment room, which I was surprised about as I find it reassuring to know and see that therapists wash their hands immediately before the treatment and during if they ever cough/sneeze etc. However, this was not the main problem - the treatments themselves were. I was not happy with the bikini wax in particular. Firstly, the therapist doing it did not listen to what I wanted. She assumed that because I am heavily pregnant and will soon be giving birth I wanted all hair removed (because apparently hospitals prefer women shaved (?)). This was not true and I told her I wanted just the edges. However, despite this she proceeded to take off everything except a tiny landing strip, which is not even straight. It was also the most painful and seemingly inexperienced waxing I've ever had. It didn't feel like she was putting enough pressure on the skin before taking off the wax and so there was quite a bit of pulling. As a result she not only left me with bruising on the underneath part of the bikini area but tore off skin from my labia. It took three days for the swelling and redness to go down. She also did not clean up properly afterwards when applying the cream/oil and left me with bits of wax down there. The second treatment, the eyelash tint, was done by the same therapist and was a bit better. I could see a difference in them afterwards but I'm not convinced the dye will last for 4 weeks. The main problem was that no after care advice was given at all, despite her knowing that it was the first time I'd ever had it done. I've heard good things about the pregnancy massages offered by Beautyworks but after the experience I had I will definitely not be coming back for a wax any time soon!
Lady was very nice and friendly but I wouldn't recommend the service. Selection of colours was limited and the one I wanted wasn't available. Shellac was put on so thinly so colour was faint and nails chipped after two days!! Would not recommend.
I had a very nice experience with Beauty Works, the service was pleasant, and was totally satisfying. I will definitely check out the the other services Beauty Works can provide.
