I had my lashes done with the Semi Permanent 3D Lashes. I purchased half set but after the consultation with the therapist I decided to go for the full set. The treatment was nice and professional, the atmosphere was relaxing. I'm happy with the results and I will do it soon again. I would recomend this place to others as well.
I really liked the treatment and my skin responded quite well ( I am always nervous with facials, as my skin is quite sensitive). Also, it is great value for money; however, the location is a bit far and not great.
I went for a knots landing back massage. My appointment time was changed twice. Once when I was on route so I had to sit around for half an hour. The therapist was still 8 mins late. The music being played during my massage was completely inappropraite and at one point a heavy rock song came on. The therapist put so much oil on my back it was like an oil slick. She sneezed over me twice and did not apologise. I was cold - no towel was put over me. I wasn't asked at any point whether the pressure was Ok. It really was not a relaxing experience. When the massage ended the therapist left the room and I didn't see her again. I checked the time and despite her starting 8 mins late she finished on time! I didn't even get my full half an hour. I was so desperate to get out of there I didn't bother complaining. I booked this massage because I needed some 'me' time but it was actually a waste of time.
I have been a regular customer at Beauty Works for a couple years now. I can understand certain critical reviews because yes, it can feel bit crammed in the waiting room at busy times and at occasionally I have found a couple therapists that had been called in to cover the extra appointments not of the same standards as the in house ones. This said I love the place and have always found the atmosphere friendly, homely and not at all snobby or snooty (an aspect that I can't stand of beauty salons). The staff is very pleasant and works very well to keep the quality and stay positive even a busy times around the available space. The treatments are really good value for London and Crouch End. I have had excellent treatments with Katy, Misbah and Helen for waxing, manicures and facials. I would maybe only suggest to the salon to maybe keep an eye on the amount of appointments booked so that they can keep offering the same standards at all times to all customers.
worse experience than last visit but still ok - particularly for the value for money you get. I bought the £20 facial + makeover. Upon arrival had 15-20 discussion with staff / owner about the voucher as they could not not verify some details on it. I think they've had some issues getting paid for the vouchers from Wahanda, but probably this is something they need to take up with Wahanda directly, rather than customers. The facial lasted for about 35-40 minutes rather than the 60 advertised and I was also told that since they were busy they would prefer if I came back for the makeover another day. I preferred to to everything on the day, and they did manage to do so. The therapist was great and very professional, it was clear that she knew what she was doing and also tailored the treatment for my skin type, which was really helpful. The ambience was great, music very relaxing and I only marked it down because of the fuss at the beginning. Overall, I will be back again because of the competitive price and professional service, but they need to pay attention to the other bits..
