The staff were great. The eyelashes did not take long to be fixed and I felt amazing having my new lashes. The therapist appeared to know her stuff and advised me on the best way tohave the lashes applied. I would definitely go back again.
I got a half set of 3D lashes at Beautyworks and I have to say it was a really good experience in terms of the friendliness and cleanliness of the salon. The beautician who applied the lashes was really lovely too - extremely friendly and cheerful. The only problem was that I had the lashes applied on the Thursday for a wedding on the Sunday and by Sunday lots of them had fallen out. I'd say a bit less than half of them. By Tuesday I only had one comical long lash on my left eye and none on my right. I took all the beauticians advice about not getting them wet in the first 24 hours and not letting anything oil-based touch them or any soap etc. She did mention that she was using a new type of glue that caused less irritation (it was certainly painless) so I think perhaps this was why they fell out. Might be worth the irritation to have them last a little longer! It's a shame because otherwise it was a really great experience.
Saw this deal on Wahanda, 2 for one full body massages. The spa was small but clean and the staff were friendly. The massage itself was excellent, the masseuse was brilliant, I believe she was studying for a doctorate in massage therapy or something like that. She listened and worked on areas I have trouble with. Very good service and great value.
I actually went in to have the Full set of 3D lashes for £50. Once I had finally located the salon , I got lost & called to say I was running late & could someone help me find them but the receptionist on the phone was as useful as a chocolate teapot!. Anyway, I was a little disappointed with the overal appearence of the reception area. It was very cluttered & there seem to be stuff all over the place including a treatment area for Manicures & Pedicures. The room is very small so what with ladies drying their nails & waiting for treatments it got a bit over crowded. I was greated by a really friendly & bubbly beautican called Katy. She was very welcoming & made me feel very at ease. The treatment itself took around 45mins & Katy explained before handed & during what she was doing. The application itself was painless but the fumes from the glue used really caused irritation in my eyes & my left eye was really stinging & watering like mad! The overal result was fantastic & i was really pleased with them. Katy was professional & very nice. The utter disappointment started the following morning when I woke up & 6-8 eyelashes fell out straight away. I flew out for my wedding on the Sunday & by Tuesday morning my eyelashes were "matted together" & looked not how I had imagined. I was not told about this & was not given any tools to "brush" them etc as I've heard from friends now they had when they had them done else where. The next few days the lashes became more & more matted & kept falling out dispite me wanting to really rub my eyes. I carried out the after care as described & didn't apply any eye make up at all not even eye shadow. I did not rub my eyes or pull at the lashes but dispite my best efforts they look so awful by day 4 that I had to use a face wipe to get them off. Surprisingly they came off really easily which apparently they shoudn't do. By my wedding day, I had no lash extensions left (This was a total of 6 days after they had been applied) & had to opt for the good old stick on ones from Boots. Had I know all of the above before, I would not have wasted £50 on lash extensions. I was so excited to get them done & although great on day 1, I was utterly disappointed with the results & will definitely not be booking another appointment for them : (
I purchased the 2 for 1 60 min massage, I booked the first one on my bday, so was very disappointed when they called me to cancel, as the therapist they had booked me in with had called in sick. I rescheduled for a sunday, but ended up arriving late due to roadworks. They were quite accomodating in regards of this, I was offered a later appt or to go ahead with the massage with it being cut a little short, I chose to go ahead. I was pleased with the therapist and massage. I was on time for my second visit but was kept waiting for 15 mins, cutting the massage short once again, but this time at no fault of my own. I booked the same therapist as previously, and once again was happy with her and the massage. I feel the voucher was value for money, even though the actual price for a 60 min massage is £40. I will return to Beauty Works for more massage treatments, as overall I was satisfied with the service received.
