I came with a few of the girls for a touch of pampering we all had a lovely experiance, friendly and just chilled experiance. I think it the cheapest in the city that i've found i would and will be coming back very soon.
Genuinely a bit shocked by this place. Went here YEARS ago when they were based in another building and I promised myself I'd never go back - that was when I phoned and asked for a tan application but for some reason ended up with a spray tan. This time I got a voucher through Groupon for brazillian and underarm wax for a tenner. I tried calling to make an appointment but they never pick up, and they only call back once - so as it's only a minute or two away from my work I thought I'd pop in. I was completely, COMPLETELY, ignored as three or four women cooed over a baby, and to my surprise, beyond the mother's meeting was a screen, and through the gaps of the screen I could make out someone's feet, lying on the bed. Privacy, hm.... Never one to give up too easily I popped in a week later, this time it was empty, deserted, and I waited and waited and waited, wondering where the hell everyone was, then a girl arrived and slammed her hand down on a waiter's bell, and as if by magic, a therapist appeared. I managed to book my appointment, in fairness, when I mentioned that my voucher was close to expiration she was very nice and said there would be no problem in extending it. In any case, the appointment I got was for the expiration date. Well when I arrived, I rang the bell, but no one came. So I waited 5 minutes or so and rang the bell again... still nothing. Spying a door across the hall I crept over, and realised someone was in there, as I began to retreat (to ring the bell again and bring them out) the door swung open and a therapist, and customer who was covered in talcum powder emerged from the room. There was very little chitchat between myself and the girl, she didn't even do me the courtesy of leaving the room whilst I removed the lower-half of my clothes. On the bed she covered me in talcum powder, and did not guide my hands to where they should be holding. I'm covered in marks where she tore too much with the wax now. It was genuinely one of the most uncomfortable moments I've had in a therapist room. And no, I didn't get my underarms done. "See you soon" she called after me as I left, "Not if I have anything to do with it" I thought to myself. To be honest, aside from the marks (which I hope go down very very quickly) she did a neat enough job, her bedside manner was appalling and might be worth a tenner, but certainly not their usual list price of £24. And I hope to god that they do not offer bikini waxes on that bed behind the screen in the main reception room.
O stars Worst bikini wax of my life. Horrible radio playing, not relaxing at all and the rudest woman with the worst technique I have ever encountered. Resulted in a very painful experience. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Groupon deal is not a deal if the person has no clue what they are doing and don't take the time to do the job properly. Arrived early for my appointment and after my waxing took a whole 10 minutes was told I had to get going because next client was waiting even though technically we were only 5 minutes into my actual appointment. GRRRRRR
Asked for her manicure and pedicure £60 as advertised on their very nice website. It's a small shop 2 floors up from the main road so very convenient and great location. Bit like China Town, very central but the shop floor isn't great and you walk up lots of stairs. Served by a lady named Brooke who looks after a number of treatments there. I went fully expecting a nice relaxing mani/pedi (as you do!) and I was sitting there in shock, literally, as to what on earth she was doing. An unpleasant experience which I would happily name and shame - please don't waste your money here. All she did was file my nails, push the cuticles back and then paint on varnish. No polishing, oils, creams, no cutting or buffing. She didn't even soak my feet!! I mean, that's "standard" for most places now. If I was paying for an express service, I'd like to think £15-20 but this was a full blown £30 for what was 20 mins of literally, ONLY painting my nails. I could have DIY'd at home and saved myself a fortune. DISAPPOINTED, ANGRY AND will not be returning here!
I would recommend Beauty Bizz - I had waxing done there and was incredibly impressed by how quick it was, good quality wax and very clean. They use Dermalogica products. The lady who runs it has owned the salon for 10 years and does a lot of house calls to people like Pixie Lott. She's quite firm but makes it a very unpainful process. She's not exceptionally thorough but for the price I couldn't complain. The venue was good - quite boudoir style decor. The downside is booking the appointment was tricky - had to keep calling and there weren't many appointments available. I wish they did booking via email. Overall I would definitely recommend a friend goes there.
