To be honest it was a rather disappointing experience. I booked for a treatment, restyle, and blow-out. On arrival, it was very quiet, just 1 stylist and receptionist. The service felt impersonal and rushed, the stylist just sat me down, started wetting my hair and putting treatment on. There was no explanation, no chatting, and then I was put under a 'steaming machine' for the treatment to take effect. At this point, I still had no idea what the treatment really was!? The stylist and receptionist chatted about the stress they had covering appointments, and who was in at what time the following day. There was no atmosphere to the place. Apparently there are tablets for you to use while you're there, I don't know because no-one told me anything, and I just read a magazine. They both disappeared outside to take personal calls, and after a quick wash (where I had water sprayed on my face! No head massage or anything) then it was time for the cut. It's actually really difficult to see what's happening, as you are seated at a 'bar', and the chair was very low - the mirror quite far away. I said I just wanted some trimming, not a full restyle. The stylist seemed to spend an inordinate amount of time constantly brushing/combing my hair, and took forever to take a tiny bit of my ends off. I said I'd like a straight style, with some volume at the roots. However, when she finished drying it, (no product used) it was curly!? I couldn't see as the chair was so low, so when I looked up I was rather surprised! I looked just like the lady before me who'd left, with a shorter, bouncy 'do'. I said it was too curly, so she smoothed it a bit, and said the curls would 'drop out'. The next appointment had arrived, and after quickly showing me the back, she just went straight over to the next lady. No spray, no product, no 'thanks, nice to see you', nothing. It looked nice from the back, but was too curly, and of course had no volume and no real style after 20 minutes, as no product had been used at all. I wouldn't go back, it's a shame, they just didn't seem that bothered. The salon could be so lovely, it's decorated beautifully, and there seemed to be cakes on offer, although I wasn't offered anything. The whole place is decorated in white, and to be honest it looked like it was starting to need a new coat of paint. Pity. I have to say, after having a facial somewhere else in Chiswick this morning, without wishing to sound too controversial, that the British are letting the side down, with a lack of professionalism, and a presumption that if you just open a salon, people will pay, no matter how unprofessional you are. The experience this morning was much better, cheaper, and with a fantastic therapist.
A few things were great: very friendly, complimentary crèche, very nice staff in the crèche, Hairdresser was concerned with what I wanted for my hair. Not so great: no conditioner in my hair so my hair was very tangled and the hairdresser was very harsh with pulling my hair and getting the knots out, I also booked threading but when I arrived they only had someone to do waxing.
Great all round experience. Really pleased with service, blow dry, ambiance, price. Will definitely go back and recommend to friends and family.
It was a really lovely experience. I had a pedicure which was amazing and the scrub really did my feet good. I will go back.
Great experience at Blo Bar, they are so friendly and take great care over their customer service. And the blowdry lasts me three days too!
