The spa itself is very limited with a sauna and steam room only and a nice enough pool. There is a relaxation room too. The afternoon was very nice albeit a little slow but nice selection of cakes and very well presented.
Staff in hotel were nice, room was lovely and meal in restaurant was excellent. Spa was less enjoyable, actual treatment itself was perfect but pool is old fashioned and cold, and attitude of some of the staff was disappointing. I arranged this stay as a present for my boyfriend with the intention of us both having treatments at the same time. The day before our stay the spa rang to tell me someone had called in sick and would I move one treatment to the Sunday instead of the Saturday. I explained that the whole point of the trip was to go to the spa together but would be happy to have a different treatment or at the very least, have the treatments within a reasonable time from each other. This did eventually get sorted but some staff members on the day made it clear to my boyfriend that I had caused a hassle and someone had to come in on their day off as I was being a bit fussy. I paid quite a bit for those treatments and am a reasonable person who will accommodate where possible, but it is not my issue to sort staffing problems and didn't really appreciate having this discussed in such a negative way to my partner.
This is my second time at the hotel my first experience was not the best and neither was my second. The rooms are nice and the treatments are great but the rest of the spa facilities are tired. Also if your going for a couples break the sauna and steam rooms are not unisex.
Blue Harbour Spa was just me and my boyfriend needed, it was so relaxing and the ambience was very good. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating, the massage treatment was relaxing and very good, we both felt relaxed after the massage that instead of going for a swim after and sauna we end up going for a snooze :D. I will definitely come back again.
