Excellent massage! Really worked on my problem areas and discovered some new ones that I hadn't recognised myself! Painful the next day but was warned and a few days after feel much better!
Really nice new facilities, friendly staff. 'Only' rating it 4 because I have had an even better, more effective massage for the same price at another Thai massage place in Wandsworth.
This was my second visit to the Battersea branch, and I'm afraid to say I'm totally over it. The massage table, which was claimed to be new, creaked and groaned so much and I felt mortified and very uncomfortable being there. I couldn't relax at all.
As well as this, the room that I was in had no soundproofing at all (I think it was just curtains) and I could hear every conversation that was taking place outside the room. I can't be the only person to have noticed this before. Also, staff mobile phones really need to be switched to silent, as having to listen to the 'ding' of every message does not make for a relaxing massage.
I left feeling more tense than I did when I walked in. It's a shame as this place has the potential to be really good as well.
I definitely wouldn't say this was a specialist'pregnancy massage'. I booked last minute and was glad they could fit me in. Inside the room (which was lovely and clean) there was a massage bed and a thin mattress on the floor. I was told the bed wasn't comfy and asked to lay on the mattress. Not ideal at 36 weeks pregnant. Managed to get myself comfortable enough (just) when laying on my sides. But laying on my back for the last part of massage also not ideal. The therapist (although lovely and friendly) didn't seem to know what was ok or comfortable during pregnancy. That being said the massage itself was amazing. and she used excellent techiques working really hard to get out all the knots in my body and pressure was great. nice and firm.
My arms weren't massages and the massage only lasted for 45 mins rather than an hour. It's also important to note that whilst relaxing music is playing you can still hear (clearly) people sitting in the waiting room chatting.
A mixed experience.
