Beautcamp pilates is absolutely amazing. It is challenging but fun! You can really feel the difference only after a few sessions (the first day after will hurt - but good hurt!). You definitely feel more toned and your posture will improve. They also have specialist classes like Beach body and Boxilates, which are fun and different from your traditional classes. I would highly recommend them to anyone who wants to tone up quick!
I love this place and the fact that they offer classes from 6am makes it a whole lot easier when you are strapped for time. The classes are so popular that if you are on the waiting list for a class which eventually becomes available, you have to snap it quick or it gets snapped up again. I think the instructors are absolutely great and the reception staff are very friendly and helpful- I will definitely keep on going there. Strongly recommended!
Went along after reading good reviews on the internet and was offered a free trial. I have had 3 classes since then. I was slightly concerned about using the 'reformer' but it's a lot easier than it looks and the trainers explain it all in a couple of minutes. I would describe myself as not very fit so I do the basics but the trainer also suggests slight changes in the moves for more advanced clients. The excercises are varied and the routines have all been different each time. There are definitely some moves I would struggle to do at all without the reformer so it is very good for stretching and working muscles that I normally wouldn't. So far I've had 3 different trainers and all have been good. Thankfully they encourage rather than bully us into pushing ourselves further. I definitely feel I've had a proper full body workout at the end of the class. My face is always bright pink in testament to that as it's sweaty work! I have bought 10 lessons as it's a lot cheaper to buy in bulk. It's more than I normally spend on classes but the classes are small so if you are doing a move incorrectly you are quickly spotted and helped into the correct position. The reformers really make a big difference to the movements you are able to do. I will review how fit I feel after 10 classes but I suspect I will be buying many more.
I took the free offer advertised on Wahanda. I took my first class on Saturday morning. I knew roughly what to expect after watching youtube videos but nothing could prepare for the muscles that hurt the next two days! My thighs felt like they'd never been used before and my arms ached to the degree in hurt to undress. Hence showing how unfit I am. This aside, the lady on reception was very helpful, Barry, the instructor was very supportive and I knew from the beginning I could take a break when I needed. The studio is air conditioned which is especially handy in the height of the summer. There's also a water dispenser which is great for those who don't want to fill their gym bag with more than they need to. I have since been back twice more. The earlybird instructor Niki is just as helpful as Barry and varies the routines throughout the week. After 3 classes I can safely say none of them have felt like an hour thanks to the constant exercise changes. I usually get bored with exercise very quickly, not knowing what's coming next has made the classes far more enjoyable. After my third class I hurt far less which proves my muscles have woken up and I'm on my way (fingers crossed) to that toned, suimmer body I want! On my last visit I used the shower facilities. The studio will happily supply you with a towel, all the shampoo, conditioner and deodorant you could ever imagine and to top it all off a hair dryer. I take the 6am classes and go to work after the class so it's really handy not to have to take your wash bag with you. At £12 a session, the early bird session is a steel. The studio has a great atmosphere, there's none of the pretentiousness i've found in other gyms, the people are friendly and it's very good value for money.
Being lucky enough to be asked along to join in a class at Beautcamp I immediately said yes. I'm trying to get fit and toned again after a few months off and thought this would be a great idea (pathetically throwing myself round the local park has not given me the inspiration yet). On arrival, a class was already in full swing and after observing a couple of minutes I must admit I started to feel slightly apprehensive. The ominous black benches with springs, pulleys and poles looked...well...rather scary! Not for the faint hearted. However the atmosphere and staff are really friendly and our gorgeous trainer (oh yes ladies) soon demystified the black bench with all its contraptions. Several big giggle fits and pilate based positions later using the pulleys around either your ankles or hands for resistance, I was already surprisingly sweaty. Had the heating been turned up? No. For the first time in ages I was getting a real full body workout! You really are expertly put through your paces, getting individual help making sure you're breathing through the exercise correctly and are in the correct position. I think there were roughly 8 people in the class which almost makes you feel like you're getting a personal training session. Apart from concentrating on your core muscles and breathing technique to achieve a leaner more toned body, Beautcamp is really nothing like your traditional pilates class. I was knackered (but had that good feeling like you do after burning it up at the gym), had wobbly legs, and walked like a granny for a couple of days after. Now I'm sure you don't get with a regular pilates class, however I absolutely loved it and am definitely going back.
