Everything was just perfect for my and my partner.. The room' the bar' the spa' the outside seating area clean and tidy. Very welcoming.. Loved every minute of it..
Good massage however really disorganised staff bickering in front of customers and passing people from pillar to post and that was just to arrange the car parking space! Wouldn't come back.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Treatment rooms were clean and fit for purpose, if not luxurious, and the staff were professional and pleasant. Our cream tea was satisfactory and so was the service. Unfortunately the spa facilities were tired and in need of upgrade. The pool area was very dark and felt dismal rather than relaxing. We decided to have coffee outside on the large patio which led onto a grass area with sun beds. It was such a pity that the tables were dirty and the floor covered in cigarette ends, some of the plastic sun beds were broken and there was litter on the grass. No one was clearing up the mess and although it was only 10.30 the staff member who served us coffee was wearing a stained uniform. The worst issue, however, was the ladies' changing room which was appalling. All I can say is that my friends and I regularly do spa days all over the south of England and this was the first time we have ever decided to get dressed after our treatments and shower at home!!
My partner and I had a one night luxury spa package which was brilliant. The staff, food and facilities were lovely. We both had a full body massage with Leanne who was amazing and this was the best massage ever with her really working out the knots in my neck and legs. Although painful (my fault for not stretching enough at the gym) we laughed the whole time and ended with a relaxing face massage. The only issues were the sauna not being particularly hot, the steam room being ridiculously hot and the cave type room not working. Our room was lovely and clean, bed very comfortable however the shower was weak and the bathroom look sad and in need or revamping. Other than this I would stay here again as the staff were lovely and extremely helpful, even to one guest who was rude for no reason to a member of the bar staff.
I opted for the Swedish Back Massage with Mary, who was very friendly and very good! Lovely massage set us up for the day. The afternoon tea was also very good and freshly made, The actual spa facilities were a bit tired to be honest, and the changing rooms were tiny with just one small shower and toilet. However, for the money spent, the staff were very friendly and helpful and I feel as though I did get value for money by the treatment and afternoon tea. We viewed the spa facilities as an added extra and on that basis you can't really complain.
