A lovely hotel with very pleasant staff! Very accommodating and an amazing massage. I'd never had one before and the lady was so comforting. Well recommended!
Our treatments got cancelled the day before we were booked in, we were not impressed can someone tell me how to get a refund??
I booked this expecting a nice spa day however having booked I phoned the hotel to arrange the treatment. The response by the manager of the spa was rude he said he had no idea what I was talking about. I told him I had booked online he stated he had no such booking. I was advised to call the agent to sort it all out. When this was finally straightened out there was no apology. I arrived at the hotel and found it was down in the depths of the hotel basement. Unpleasant and cold. I was given a robe a towel but no slippers as there had been no delivery that week. I was advised to go upstairs to the hotel lounge for my cream tea in bare feet. The cream scone was stale and I didn't think it worth the calories and left it. I was so unhappy about the experience I decided to just have the facial and go home bypassing the unpleasant and dark pool with sauna. I would give this no stars at all if possible. However the treatment was excellent but I would not have driven one and a half hours for it.
Changing rooms and main pool are a bit tired and could do with a makeover
We have stayed at numerous hotels all over the world and this was one of the most disappointing experiences to date. The hotel had overbooked beyond their capacity. We did not receive any treatments within our 'exclusive' offer and their treatments were all overbooked. When we explained that we had paid for treatments within our inclusive package we were told that the hotel couldn't do anything. They took on a 30 person hen party which they simply couldn't cope with. Everyone was complaining, didn't receive treatments, the spa facilities were freezing first thing in the morning and then absolutely packed to the hilt for the remainder of the day, the restaurant was always fully booked and although the staff were OK, the hotel itself needs to take on more staff to manage the numbers. The hotel room itself was shabby and in need of updating. We were placed opposite the cleaners room which was regularly visited with the door open all the time just looking unprofessional and messy, next door had a yapping dog and the staff were uncoordinated, e.g. we had an exclusive package but reception failed to tell give us a voucher to present to the spa team who wouldn't admit us without out. Everything was difficult, slow and displeasurable.
