Pleasant but basic. The massage was also tame and would have preferred a more firm and deep massage. The staff were very friendly and lovely. You get what you pay for to be fair.
I booked in at Bright Beauty having never been before for full face threading, full leg wax and Hollywood wax.
Upon arrival, a lovely lady called Neeha sat me down for my face threading. She was friendly and quick although when I got home I noticed patches she’d missed.
She took me into a room to begin my leg wax. It was clean but there was zero ambiance. There was no music and the decor was clinical. Again, when I got home, patches had been missed. I then realised she was in a rush because she had another booking and told me her colleague was going to take over for the Hollywood wax. What I didn’t realise was that my nightmare hadn’t even begun...
Neeha’s colleague came in and told me to take my knickers off. I did as I was told however I know from past Hollywood waxing that I’ve always been given the choice of no knickers or wearing the disposable paper pants where they move them as required to give you slightly more dignity for a relatively undignified treatment! Not here though.
The alarm bells started ringing when she dipped the stick into the wax and started blowing on the wax as she was approaching my delicate lady parts...
The wax was clearly too hot and her blowing on it didn’t help matters from what I felt. With a stiff upper lip, I endured it and the wax strips were applied. Now, I’ve had a lot of Hollywood waxes before and I don’t think it’s a lot to ask fir to stretch the skin as the strip is being pulled off... not here.
Never in my life have I been treated so roughly with waxing. She was using wax that was way too hot, going over the same patch several times (with wax that was way too hot), not pulling the skin and ultimately pulling my skin off with the hair.
What I can tell you is if you go here for a Hollywood wax, they will absolutely annihilate you. I was beyond sore and when I got home, I rushed to the shower to try to soothe it. When I inspected, my skin was raw and weeping, stinging like crazy and for two solid days I had to apply copious amounts of Sudocrem. Only just now, I’ve got dry skin that has grown over the parts that were raw and is now peeling off.
To call this a ‘treatment’ is, in my experience, a complete and utter travesty. More like an ancient punishment ritual.
