I had to wait half an hour whilst a hotel client had a blow dry. I was ok with this but I think she had been put out by the hotel and was a bit anxious and disconcerted. I explained that I had dry hair ends. The hairdresser then put some oil all over my hair to improve its condition as it was very dry. She said she would take an inch off but I said I would allow a maximum of 2” to be cut off, but she cut off 4”. I had to explain after the blow dry that I did not want a bob and that I wanted variation between the front and back of my haircut. She rectified this by softening the front with some layering but the back of my hair is a harsh straight line with no softening - this might have been because she cut too much off, thinking she would tidy it up, forgetting altogether that I wanted to keep my style.There is a very nice atmosphere at the hairdressers, civilised and quiet. She seemed far more concerned about the condition of my hair than styling it. I guess I will have to let it grow back before someone can put some layers into the back. I will need to wait probably 4 months to do this.

I had a wonderful hair colour (half head highlights) at the Carol Joy salon on Saturday. Wonderful salon, deep inside the spa area of the Dorchester - the place smelled wonderful! Simona was my hair colourist and is really very good. Efficient, knowledgeable and did a beautiful job. The salon was peaceful and relaxing, and you get lovely touches, such as a spray of the Carol Joy Collagen facial spray, whilst in the salon and you have time on your hands. I'm likely to return. Expensive, but worth it. Thanks!
