I came in last week to treat myself to a massage for my birthday. I had a day off so came during the day. Was seen super quickly and the massage itself was lovely, the lady was super polite and skilled and did her job really well. Music went off towards the end but no problem. However, the experience & atmosphere was ruined by someone stood directly outside the treatment room talking VERY loudly and taking phone call after phone call. I know this person's name, their occupation, what mobile phone network their own, what their husband is on, that they live in a house, that they recently booked a Scottish politician for an upcoming event who turned down 50(!) invitations to do it, that they would never turn down Jack Munroe for one, that they send emails whilst sat on the toilet because it's the only place they get signal, that they were in Clapham just for today but due somewhere else tomorrow. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. This was for the majority of my time (30-40 mins out of 45?). To their credit, I heard them ask staff more than once if it was "okay" to be making these phone calls and they were repeatedly assured that it was, which was incredibly irritating for me. I thought about saying to the masseuse to ask them to move, but with having no idea who they were (Owner? Owner's partner? Head hairdresser for all I know!) so I felt uncomfortable doing this. I did not relax and it was not the birthday treat I wanted. The staff were really kind on the the way out, apologised and offered me 20% off my next massage (I'd paid in advance), however IMO it was the reverse of what a massage should be and they should have offered the next one for free, or half price at least ... which is a shame because the staff were polite and the massage itself was lovely and it's local. They should have been mindful of ALL their clients and told this person to move / be quiet!
Nice and clean room. Very experienced waxer. I was made to wait 10 minutes though which is a bit annoying when you are in a rush. Good experience though.
