I enjoyed the day , treatments were excellent. Staff were mostly friendly, I am not sure if I would return again. I would like to try somewhere else to compare. Lunch was excellent , lots of choice from a delicious buffet.
Hi
A lovely day, but not sure if I will return. The treatments were excellent, but not sure the whole experience was worth the money. The therapists were very efficient & good at their job, but the overall ambience of the place did not impress me.
I went with my husband for a romantic weekend, far from London. The venue is located in beautiful surroundings so we enjoyed a short walk around the hotel after arrival.
I had a great body wrap and facial. My therapist was very patient and accommodating with my requests due to pregnancy.
I spent quite a lot of time in the swimming pool, whereas my husband had a chance to try also sauna and steam room. There were not many places where we could hang around together. Some facilities are separate, located in changing area and not much relaxation space.
We had a great time there anyway and I would recommend it.
First of all I should mention that I went to stay a night using my Pru Health private medical insurance discount which enabled me to stay the night in a standard room for £35 (Platinum level member) which included 3 meals, 1 back massage and full use of the facilities so for me the value was AMAZING!
I went to Tring last time so I knew what to expect.
The food was healthy and great, I have no complaints. Dinner was a nice 3 course meal, there are various options to suit all. Breakfast and Lunch are buffets with all sorts of things on offer, all nutritionally balanced and healthy.
The room was sufficient, nothing special, just a standard room as expected.
The facilities were OK. I liked that there was a separate area of Sauna, Steam rooms for women only. Tring had only shared sex facilities so I apreciated that. However the steam room smelt musty so couldn't stay in there long.
The gym was more spacious as well as the pool so I was pleased. This time I did not join any classes but instead we went for a walk around the lake, it was really beautiful. The surroundings were the best.
My back massage was good, my thereapist was Carly. I would reccommend her to anyone going. I very rarely reccomment a therapist TBH but she was good and gave sound advice. I kind of wish I extended my massage which was only 25 mins but it was free after all.
Now the negatives.... We didn't get complimentary slippers this time. And in the spa dressing rooms the beauty products were not Champney branded. The toner, cleanser and moisturiser was cheapo stuff that my local gym supplies so I was very dissapointed. But I guess this is why for Tring you need to pay an extra £25 supplement which we were not charged in Forrest Mere. So maybe its a good thing?
I'm definitely going back, this time I will be going to Henlow in May and I can't wait.
I have been to Forest Mere about four times now and most recently I went to Henlow. Of the two, Forest Mere is by far nicer in terms of level of surroundings. Henlow looked very "tierd" to me when I visited may 2009.
I stayed in a Premier Room which was lovely, very spacious and had lovely views. The food is excellent and as we were Premier guests you have your eveing meal in the Mere restauraunt which is divine!
Treatments vary depending on the individual therepist, I had a great pedicure but felt the massage and facial was rushed. Spa area could be doing with some T.L.C I think but overall, I would go back in a minute! Should be available on prescription!!
