Excellent. Can't wait to go back. Treatments were great. I had a thelassotherapy treatment and facial and a body massage. The food exceeded my expectations. The yoga class was excellent. You need to be well organised to get the most out of the day. I had been before so I knew my way around.
Lovely experience- actually the best thing was the lunch which was amazing. My mum had a massage was pretty rushed with a young therapist who didn't seem that well trained. I went to a body sculpt class and it felt pretty much like the teacher was making it up as she went along, I also didnt even break sweat. However the class was very c;early quite mixed ability.
Overall I would definitely go back as the staff were very lovely and the facilities were beautiful and very relaxing. Apart from when they did a very loud fitness class in the pool.
Arrived and were dealt with promptly. As I've been before, we didn't need a tour but one is available if you want. Went straight to the lockers and then on to book classes (we chose the aqua mitt class, which didn't require prior booking). The thalassotherapy pool session had accidentally been omitted from our schedules but this was quickly and efficiently corrected. The door on the steam room was faulty (but reported - maintenance on the way) but we managed to squeeze in and get all steamed up before going off for our thalassotherapy treatment. We enjoyed the session and then went on to the aqua mitt class, which was great fun and good exercise (it made us feel we'd done some good in between the relaxation). As usual, the facial and massage (booked as extras at a reduced rate before we went) were high quality and I felt very relaxed afterwards. Then it was lunch: great choices as usual of hot and cold buffet. We resorted to the sun room to chill (difficult as it was very hot) so transferred to the garden loungers. A talk on healthy eating with a smoothie and fruity flapjack rounded off the afternoon (replicated the flapjack at home - very easy to make). Well done Henlow: I love coming to see you all and will be back.
Thalassotherapy was quite nice and we managed to book a massage for £40 too but unfortunately was not able to prebook and use the offer emailed to us by Champneys of a facial and massage for £40. Some of the treatments are quite pricey aswell. None the less it was still a fantastic day coupled with lovely weather! Would definitely go back again.
We get a 75% discount off our stays at Champneys through our Vitality membership – www.vitalitylife.co.uk. We’ve tried a couple of them them now as it cost us less for the weekend we’d previously paid for one night! The food is excellent (and there’s a great choice) plus the staff are all well trained and very helpful. The pool here is beautiful and we had a go at aqua mit and aqua fit both really enjoyable and easy to follow. Very good weekend and it was brilliant value for money.
