First time at champneys being a regular at Y spa and Eden hall. It has a grand external appearance and reception but the facilities deteriorate in quality from there. Changing rooms with out of order showers and buckets catching constant flow of water from ceiling by the sauna. Piles of wet towels not cleared away at 10am. Pool - huge for getting a proper swim, but tired with missing tiles. Could be so much better. Jacuzzi cooler than pool water. steam rooms like small boxes located in changing rooms. Thalassotherapy nice but supervised and time restricted.
Lunch fantastic - both food quality and service which we enjoyed, however the Welcome buffet with cheap orange juice and under ripe fruit disappointing. Conservatory area pleasant and comfortable.
" Champneys relaxing facial" was poor - anything but relaxing ...with product bottles being pumped and clattering right by my ear! And a seemingly inexperienced therapist. Tired treatment rooms with bad lighting. The other two people in my party had similar views of the champneys massage and again the facial.
On arrival I witnessed a dissatisfied customer cancelling her booking and wanting a refund which was not being handled brilliantly. We share our feelings about our visit on departure and were asked if we wanted to talk to someone. I thought we just had so declined wasting any more of our time after paying my £3 bill for a cup of tea
We will not be returning!
A day to remember for my beautiful partner, she had the most relaxing experience. Thank you all the staff were very helpful and perlite, couldn't ask for more.
