I booked through treatwell (first time using) the salon was aware of appointment, however the person before me arrived late, delaying my appointment by 30 mins, the lady in charge, informed me i had waited too long, that she was not charging for treatment. The waxing itself didnt particularly suit my skin (i genuinely dont think this was the salon fault, i think it was my skin, as its probably sensitive ) so it took longer & wasn't 100%, the beautician was apologetic & done her best and im happy enough now with the result. It was a lovely clean, modern salon with excellent customer service, i would definitely return and try other treatments or a haircut & colour, as i observed a few people getting hair done & they all looked fab.
I visited Chapel Street Salon last Saturday. I received a call a couple of hours prior to my appointment: I was asked if I could anticipate it and I answered I would try but couldn't guarantee. I made to arrive earlier as required but I was left waiting until the time of the original appointment.
While waiting I was asked to pay in advance and after I was offered a cup of coffee/tea/water.
When my turn arrived, I followed the staff (didn't introduce herself in any way) who started with the bikini waxing. She didn't ask for indications on how I wanted the bikini done, and much worse, when I gave indications, these were just ignored. Instead, the lady repeatedly insisted in telling me my hair was not all ideally long. Thus I explained that unfortunately (for me) some of my hair brakes while growing, so my hair is never the same lenght, even if I wait six months. Nonetheless I reassured many many many times that it doesn't matter to me if the skin comes out of the waxing completely free of hair: I settle for any result, since most of the hair come off anyway. But the lady didn't even slightly listened to me. I started to feel uneasy and very uncomfortable as she stubbornly kept to insist on the same areas with shorter hair. Her every move became more tense and strained. She was even continuously snorting and tossing her head. I became petrified.
Needless to say my skin also suffered. It's still swallen, unsensive and has rash.
Sadly, the least caring and most unprofessional service I've ever experienced.
