since has arrived to the shop, there was a small dog coming in and out from the shop and walking around the shop without anyone caring about.
After few minute I have noticed that the doing had a owner who might have misunderstood that the shop was an hairdresser and not a PUB. He sat for at least 1.30hr in one of the hairdresser chair consuming pints (3) and crisp as he was sat at counter of the pub. Very unprofessional. The entire shops is portuguese speaking, does not matter if english speaking are inside and they can not understand whatever they are saying to each other. You would not know if they would talking about you. Again very unprofessional.
The lady who did my manicure was very nice but the quality and quantity of the polish was very poor. you could choose between just probably 6/8 colours. I did my manicure on Saturday before an event and on sunday afternoon ( i made sure to do anything could damage my manicure) half of my polish was damaged or even pulled off of my nails.
Again, poor quality of products.
The staff were very friendly and the pedicure was thorough. I was also impressed with the price. I was the last customer, so can't really comment to much on ambience as I was there just before closing time when they were cleaning everything up and had no other customers in. It might have been a bit more atmospheric with some music, but maybe they had turned this off by the time I arrived.
The only criticism I have is the use of cuticle clippers (although as I didn't specify beforehand that I didn't want them clipped and I didn't stop the girl once she started, I feel I can't really complain about that). It is bad for them to be clipped though - so I would never choose this. My reticence was confirmed slightly when they were clipped so far at one point that I bled.
The girl was apologetic and it didn't happen a second time, so I would just say to anyone going for a pedicure to say up front beforehand if they would prefer no clippers to be used. My personal opinion is that salons these days shouldn't be engaging in this practice anymore anyway.
The rest of the pedicure was great, however, and got rid of my dead skin. For a reasonably-priced manicure with no frills, this is a good choice.
