Terrible! This was my first and last visit to this establishment. I booked for a last-minute blow dry. Good online booking experience - I was seen within 30 minutes of my contact - but everything else was appalling. How could a blow dry go so wrong? I hear you ask - my thoughts exactly! The stylist was clearly a trainee but appeared to have no guidance or training. Hair washing was poor, water temperature variable and right side of head was barely wet. Styling brushes were filthy and appeared to have had about a week's worth of clients hair embedded within the bristles. When I brought this to the attention of the stylist he said he always used the brush in such a condition and began to remove the hairs and debris by brushing through with another similarly filthy brush. I intervened and suggested that water and soap should be used that this was usual practice and without such attention to cleanliness that he risked harming clients. A senior colleague offered her brush which appeared cleaner but was still unacceptable - she stated that she had washed it the previous evening but that there had been several clients that day and so there were hairs embedded in the bristles. There did not appear to be any sterilizer in use and given the comments from staff and the condition of the brushes use of such equipment appeared alien to the salon. The blow dry itself was terrible and could only be described as incompetent. Blow drying a straight short Bob should not be a challenge - but it was for this stylist, although as he was in training the fault lies with the management for failing to ensure that staff have the appropriate supervision and support to deliver a competent service to customers. I needed to advise the stylist that the volumising agent should be applied whilst the hair was still wet - by this time my hair as almost dry. When the hair was dry in an effort to introduce more volume (which was not required) he began to back-comb!! i.e. to introduce tangles to the underside of the hair - a practice known to damage hair and not generally required for a Bob. When it was finally finished the amount of static introduced to my hair meant I had to re-do when I got home. I was charged £23.00 (which included a 50p debit card fee) for the fiasco - the manager had the audacity to enquire whether I would like to pay an additional £100.00 for 5 more sessions at the reduced loyalty rate of £20.00 - surely a joke! Any manager aware of the poor service, as this one was, would have apologised and offered a reduction or no charge. I regularly have my hair done in hairdressing salons and so can compare standards - this was the worst by a long way. I question the origin of many of the reviews for this salon as the ratings provided in no way reflect my experience.
Great ambience, the staff was very nice and helpful - explained what's possible do to with my hair and why and helped me choose the best haircut. Very friendly throughout.
Excellent last minute hair cut. They did a fantastic job and I will certainly be coming again. Inna did exactly what I wanted and I was very pleased indeed. Thanks!
