I gave the hairdresser general directions of what I wanted and asked her to have a free hand in the haircut - it worked and I love my new bob! Also, unlike lots of other hairdressers, she was not unnecessarily or falsely chatty, but pleasantly conversational and there was no feeling of us having to make conversation just for the sake of it.
