Roxy is a compassionate, empathetic soul and space holder. She greets life with humour and honour of feeling. She came to yoga 18 years ago as a support system for anxiety and trauma, having experienced the profound benefits, she holds a particular interest in the body mind, living in healthy alignment and how we can use yoga and bodywork not just to ease our suffering, but to return home to ourselves. Upon hearing about AYM in 2016, she immediately signed up to study with Despina Psarra. What began as following an inner call, has become her calling. Blown away by the immediate physical and mental benefits to both client and therapist, and the modality’s heart centred approach, she finds joy in being able to offer this as both a career and ongoing spiritual practice. Whilst treatments can be adjusted to the client you can expect a strong and flowing massage, deep deep pressure and space to truly switch off.

About

My background is as a carer and support worker. For 15 years I worked with the eldery, people with Autism and with adults and children with a variety of learning, physical and emotional difficulties, including Parkinson’s, Cerebral palsy, Down’s syndrome, MS, Spina bifida and acquired brain injury. I loved my job, and I learned so much about communication, empathy and empowering others, having had the honour of supporting incredibly beautiful people and their families. A few years ago, I began to feel I wanted to help others in a different way: to be able to support people with their physical health, comfort and range of movement, to help them to feel more connected to and at ease in their bodies, and to help people to experience a state of deep relaxation which can bring about a sense of balance, peace and wellbeing. This desire led me to massage. I studied AYM for 2.5 years with Ayurvedic Yoga Massage UK, where I attended 3-4 trainings a year and became and teaching assistant. I also trained in Pregnancy Massage under AYM UK. In 2024 I began training with the Modak Institute to study the Kusum Modak Method- Ayurvedic Yoga Massage Therapy. I attended courses in both London and India- where I studied under the watchful gaze of the founder of AYM Master Kusum Modak. I have also studied with the NHS Natural Health School, graduating with distinctions in both Therapeutic Massage and Reflexology. This included the study of anatomy and physiology.
