I asked for a trim of what I already had, a straight cut and keeping the layers - this is important as my hair is very thick and I like being able to wear it curly. The hairdresser I had was very rough and painfully yanked my head at times, water tricked down my top when she washed my hair and she didn't keep the layers as I had asked. She blow-dried my hair within an inch of its life without putting anything in it first, so the result was very dry, the layers were gone so it was bushy and I am sorry to say it was cut unevenly with straggly bits. She seemed in a great hurry, I was late but I had also called in advance to say I would be, and if it was going to affect the quality of the appointment would have preferred a conversation about what they could do in less time (e.g. skip or just do a rough blow dry) rather than end up with a cut that looked quite bad for a week.
I left a voicemail as I couldn't get through the phone lines or to the email address on the answering machine, which was returned three days later. When I went back in the other hairdresser I have to say clearly knew what she was doing, she was much gentler and did a very good job carefully evening it out and put the layers back in for me. The final result is nice.
