Took my mother here for spa day. Great spa feels very peaceful we came Thursday and it was very quiet. The message was excellent, my facial focused more on my neck than I’d have liked, however my mother said her facial was excellent. Would recommend
We treated ourselves to the "Urban Retreat" package which was a 25 minute treatment, use of the facilities followed by afternoon tea. The spa itself is lovely, albeit very small. There isn't really much by way of facilities (sauna, steam room and hot beds) but it's all clean and well decorated. The treatments were nice and the staff very pleasant.
Sadly, the whole experience was let down by the awful afternoon tea. It was booked in advance so should not have been a surprise. The sandwiches had obviously been in the freezer- some of the bread was so wet and soggy it could have been wrung out. The other was so hard and dry it was like cardboard. The fillings were equally poor - a slice of cheese and some bits of red onion and if there was meant to be smoked salmon it didn't make it to our plate. The scones were ok, but definitely not fresh. The cakes were ok but nothing special.
All in all, a very disappointing experience and not worth the money we spent.
