This place is like a hidden secret in between to DLR stations. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I was running late, and the therapist called me on route and said not to worry about being late. The facilities are good. Once I sat on the heated relaxation chairs, I didn't want to move. But I still had the sauna and hot room to sample! The atmosphere in the place is really chilled out, clean and you do feel spoilt for the time you are there.
My only problem is that the bathrobes could be longer. This will not deter me for returning, which I will do.
Go East River Spa
Wouldn't pay full price but worth the discounted price as no other facilites apart from additional wet room and relaxation room with heated beds. Great for treatment in your lunch hour but not full spa day
The spa day was out of this world myself and a friend througly enjoyed our relaxing day and staff were very plasant and helpful. The relaxation room was nice and offered hot drinks and water and I would not change a thing overall value for money
My boyfriend and I visited East River Spa in February 2011. We booked the 2 for 1 spa day pass.
It was such an amazing experience!! On arrival, we were welcomed and shown around the spa. It is quite small, but was VERY quiet which I loved. We had the steam, sauna , and showers for ourselves! We had fun trying out the showers and putting ice from the ice fountain on each other. There is a gym too, which had some interesting equipment. The gowns and towels provided were so soft and clearly good quality, and the changing area and showers were well equipped and very clean.
The highlight of the day was being able to relax in the relaxation room. They had heated marble beds, with views overlooking the O2 and Thames. There were delicious herbal teas and fruit to try, whilst relaxing music played in the background. We left feeling totally revitalised.
Overall, the 2 for 1 pass is an excellent offer. I would recommend it to anyone, especially those looking for a laidback afternoon of relaxation.
The only negative points are the lack of a pool (it would have been nice, but didn't ruin the day), and a couple issues finding the spa (had to ask for directions a couple times, but wasn't too bad)
The only problem I had with this place was actually finding it - the map on the website wasn't clear and we spent a while wandering around the area looking for it!
Once we arrived though, we were pleasantly surprised with the whole place. We were shown around by a very helpful lady, and had time before our treatment to enjoy the gym (which was empty), before going into the sauna and steam area. The staff were really polite and helpful and talked us through the different steps of the steam cleansing ritual we had signed up for, before we were left in our private steam room to enjoy. Afterwards we enjoyed the lovely heated loungers in the relaxation room with great views, and no-one hurried us along at any point, it was lovely and relaxing! Definitely will be going back.
