The location is hard to find and may seem a bit shabby in the middle of China Town but the therapists are very good at their job. I have been here before and have to say that the massage here is better than the ones I received at fancier places. I bought 2 vouchers and had a Thai massage this time which was very good. The lady had strong fingers that really worked out my knots. I was sore in the back for a day but then after that I felt great as all the kinks have been removed.
I went to Elegant studio to get a Thai massage. the massage in itself was alright, but i've seen better. the therapist was really nice and gentle, and the receptionist helpful, welcoming, so in regards to the staff, there is nothing to complain about.
One thing completely ruined the experience though. While i'm sure the salon is usually a great place to relax, on the day i went, they were having contractors repairing a boiler, and the rooms having some space on top of the walls, it was really noisy and literally impossible to unwind. The men working were dropping tools, screaming adn laughing loudly the whole hour i was there. Even though I understand the work had to happen, a little more discretion from these men could have been asked by the staff to ensure there was no impact on customers, and i was really disappointed nothing was said or done to prevent the noise.
Moreover, the massage was adverstised for an hour, but really lasted 45 minutes only, after which i didn;t even have time to get dressed that the thereapist came to clean up the room.
The therapist applied pressure when asked but used too much oil. I enjoyed the massage but wanted a bit more of an deep tissue massage as I prefer strong pressure applied to the muscles. I didnt enjoy the atmosphere of the salon as there was one lady walking around with her hair dye all over the place even going behind the counter.
I was attended to straight away however my wife was left waiting over 30mins!
This place is overall an OK experience, however it feels abit rushed and and the place does not feel very clean. The therapist was friendly and helpful though, came out feeling nice but not WOW, not sure if I will go back again.
Elegant Studios is located on the top floor of one of those shabby building along the China town. I wouldn't have minded that so much had the service been good. I booked a chinese massage which I was really excited about. I've had the chinese massage at different places, including China while I lived there. What I got at Elegant Studios wasn't a chinese massage. The best I can call it is a weak Swedish massage. The therapist sporadically massaged me, missing parts like midle and lower back, and massaging around my head as if she didn't know what to do with herself. To make things even worse (and I am not kidding even in the slightest) she burped about 10 minutes during the massage. When it was over, I glanced at the clock and realised that it wasn't even 1-hour massage which was on the voucher - the whole thing lasted 45 minutes. At this point I didn't even complain - I was glad to be out of there. What a waste of money.
