A massage here was a very interesting experience! Nestled in the heart of Chinatown, it is a little hard to spot amongst all the restaurants in the same street. Tip - take the lift - it's a bit of a trek by stairs!
The salon itself feels very small. The receptionist was really polite and friendly and took my voucher details (this was a Wahanda deal) before showing me into a room. The therapist did not seem to speak much English and looked pretty miserable to be honest. The voucher stated there was a choice of massage styles - i.e aromatherapy, thai etc however I was not asked my preference. The massage I got I am guessing was Chinese style and was really bizarre - involving the therapist kneeling on my back and very unlike any other massage I have had before. However, it really did the trick. My bones creaked a lot which was a bit grim but felt very relaxing and like it was doing me the world of good.
Would I go back? This is not the right venue for a luxurious treatment but for a no nonsense massage to relieve knots and aches, it would be worth returning for.
Having read previous reviews about this place, I decided that the safest option was to go for a blow dry.
Considering they are primarily a hair salon, the result was terribly disapointing.
I had asked for something special as I was going to a party later on that evening but I ended up looking absolutely awful with limp hair stuck to my head (the hairdresser used a lot of products despite my fine hair) and something resembling curls at the ends.
Luckily, I still had time to go home where I frantically tried to rescue the situation.
The premises were small, cramped and not particularly clean.
There was no mention of the voucher towards future treatment but I would never go back anyway.
Overall, a hideous experience.
The venue is not great. The area (chnatown) is noisy and the toilets were full of cut hair (the venue is also a hair salon), and did not look too clean.
The facial, though, was very good, and the therapist was gentle, with amazing technique. Since I had no blemish os sports afterwards, I must conclude that if the venur might not be super clean, my therapist was.
I will definitely go back.
This venue was located in the middle of china town and easy to get to. I received a blow-dry from two people at the same time as they were trying to do it quick. Slightly strange sensation but ok.
The massage was a bit rough and I would say English was a bit of a barrier as the therapist didn't communicate much with me. I didn't know what to expect and was surprised when I found the therapist kneeling on my back. The good thing was that my back felt better afterwards.
