I was so disappointed with my haircut at this salon. The appointment started 20 minutes late, and I was a little surprised that my hairdresser didn't apologise for the delay or say a word at all while she was washing my hair, not even to ask if the water was too cold (it was) or if I was comfortable. She proceeded to have a conversation in another language (Portuguese, I think) with everyone else in the salon while I stood there like an idiot not knowing where to go. It soon became apparent she barely spoke any English, so I had to tell her what I wanted done to my hair through mime and a rather awkward 3-way conversation with another member of staff who tried to interpret. I have lived and worked abroad myself and know how difficult it is to learn a second language, but it is absolutely ridiculous to have to communicate with a hairdresser through an amateur interpreter. The whole experience left me feeling completely undervalued as a customer, overcharged for a mediocre service and quite humiliated. The haircut itself is not bad, but I feel frustrated that I wasn't able to explain what I wanted to the person wielding the scissors. I will not return to this salon, and suggest that if you only speak English you don't bother either.
