I booked a wash, cut and blowdry at Esparsh in Woolwich via Treatwell, paying in full in advance. When I arrived for my appointment, I was advised that they do not do "my kind of haircut" - a short bob. I am not sure what this meant, but it was very annoying as I had planned my day around this, and needed to have my hair cut this weekend. Apparently they had tried to call me 30 minutes before my appointment, but I was already on my way at that point, and did not pick up as I was cycling. In the end, I had to go to another salon in Woolwich, which was more expensive than Esparsh and the place I usually go, and not great.
If salons are not able to offer basic haircuts such as short bobs, this should be made clear on the website, as this was a complete waste of my time.
In fairness to the venue, they did offer me a threading to make up for the inconvenience, but I was in a rush to get my hair cut, so could not take them up on this. Treatwell have said they will give me a refund - I should hope so!
