Lovely relaxing atmosphere. Food was delicious. Rooms were lovely & clean. Bed was comfortable. Air con wasn't as good as it could have been, that's the only downside. Would stay again.
The spa isn't the biggest one but it was lovely. Staff were very friendly and the massages we had were fantastic, the ladies really paid attention to the areas we said were tense and then applied the pressure we sid we were comfortable with. We had an afternoon tea with our spa day and it was lovely, staff were very attentive and very polite, it did seem like nothing was too much trouble. I would happily go again.
I have booked for massage and lunch deal here, as that looked identical to the package advertised on spa web site. I've booked with wahanda only because it was a last minute decision and spa didn't have online booking facility, not because I can save £5. I was then informed by the spa that the package offered at wahanda only had 1/2 time of treatment, and if I wanted to upgrade I need to cancel with wahanda and re-book with spa, or pay £15. Since my booked date was so near I had to pay £15 (£10 more than rrp). I should have booked well in advance to avoid such confusion, but description here is unclear and quite misleading. Overall it was great value for money. Lovely lunch, relaxing massage, had a nice ambient, and staff were attentive and friendly. I had a great time. Negatives (aside from the total cost in the end) were; Everytime I asked for extra stuff (up-grade fee, a glass of wine, tea...) I was asked to pay straight away. Could you not bill me in the end? Unfortunately I had to witness some dubious thing on shower floor and on sauna bench. I couldn't swear what they were but they put me off a bit, to say the least. I was more used to full-on spas, but this one was more of "gym with spa", so there was no relaxation meditation bench etc. I still get to chill out by the pool so it is not so negative, I guess. I would still recommend it to anyone, though. It was a lovely place to be for lazy day offs.
Fabulous treatments and excellent value for money. Therapist - apologies didn't get her name, but she has recently returned after maternity leave - deserves a special mention, fantastic facial and massage. Treatments are brilliant but be aware this is a hotel pool with treatments - its not a 'spa' as such. Lots of children in the pool later in the day - in fairness it is the holiday period - book during the week and out of the holidays.
Positives: All parts of the hotel were spotlessly clean, staff very friendly and helpful, parking was very convenient, Executive room and bathroom very comfortable and high spec. The food in the restaurant for dinner and at the bar was excellent. Cons: The swimming pool doesn't have anywhere near enough loungers or seats, when the pool/spa was busy there was no-where to sit. The pool temperature is quite cold which is great for training but maybe not great for relaxing.
